Project At A Glance:
Gravel wetlands are a cost-effective, efficient means of treating stormwater runoff, which is why the VT Department of Environmental Conservation contracted Watershed to design a gravel wetland system for a Park and Ride facility in St. Albans, VT.

Client: Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation

Location: St. Albans, VT

Description:
Watershed was retained by the State of Vermont Ecosystem Restoration Program to design and permit a subsurface gravel wetland at the St. Albans Park and Ride, owned and operated by VTRANS. The project scope included preparing a runoff/water quality model, survey/baseplan, concept level/construction level design plans and details, construction cost estimation, construction supervision, memorandum of understanding drafting, and a post construction monitoring & maintenance plan development. The site was designed according to the “Best Fit” ANR Engineering Feasibility Analysis Procedure. The site remains effectively functioning today.
