Becky Tharp joined our team in late 2017, coming from a position as Vermont’s Green Infrastructure Coordinator with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and the Lake Champlain Sea Grant at the University of Vermont. During her first months with Watershed, she was also working to complete her doctoral research looking at stormwater pond design, influence on internal nutrient cycling, and ecologically-based tools to improve treatment capacity. In May of 2018 Becky defended her dissertation and completed all of the requirements of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from UVM’s Plant and Soil Science Department in the College of Arts and Life Sciences later that year. This past December, it was made official during the University’s hooding ceremony.

Becky leads our Water Quality Program and we are excited to have her on the team as we deepen our scientific rigor and offer our clients greater opportunities for unique data sources to drive the highest level of design. Congratulations Becky!
